News On Iverson and Coleman
Updated Feb. 23, 2004
After playing the first three games following the All-Star Break on the road, the 76ers returned to their Philadelphia practice facility on Sunday and got good news on the injury front.
Allen Iverson, who emerged from the training room with his right arm in a sling, certainly looked worse than he was. X-rays taken on Iverson’s right shoulder, which he hurt against Seattle, were negative. The 6-foot-0 guard missed Monday's game versus the Pistons and is considered day-to-day.
“He does have soreness and range of motion right now is a problem for him,” Interim Head Coach Chris Ford said.
Aside from Iverson, the 76ers got more good news when Derrick Coleman took another step closer to returning to the hardwood. The 6-10 center had the cast removed on his right hand. Coleman has been out since Jan. 23 when he fractured his right fourth metacarpal. He is expected to be cleared for basketball related activities in about two weeks.
