Sixers Sign Haston and James
Philadelphia 76ers President and General Manager Billy King announced Monday, Oct. 4, that the Sixers have signed free agents Kirk Haston and Nate James to a contract. Per team policy, terms of the contract are not disclosed. With the addition of Haston and James, the Sixers training camp roster stands at 17 players.
Haston, a first round draft pick (16th overall) in the 2001 NBA Draft, played two seasons with the Hornets (2001-03), before being waived on Oct. 29, 2003. In two seasons, Haston played in 27 games and has averaged 1.2 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.
James, a 2001 graduate of Duke University, has played in summer league games with the Washington Wizards (2001) and the Sacramento Kings (2001). During the 2003-04 season, James played in Hungary and helped his team (Kaposvar) capture the 2004 Hungarian Cup championship trophy.
