Turkey Drive to be held in conjunction with Friday’s game against Portland with Green presenting donation on behalf of team.

WILLIE GREEN, SIXERS TIP OFF THANKSGIVING WITH TURKEY DRIVE

The Philadelphia 76ers are getting set to team up with Comcast SportsNet and the city of Philadelphia for the 2007 Turkey Drive. The Sixers are asking fans to come out to the Wachovia Center prior to the game against the Trail Blazers on Friday, November 16 at 7 pm and donate a frozen turkey. All those who donate will receive a coupon permitting them to attend a special post-game autograph session featuring Willie Green, Louis Amundson, and Herbert Hill.

As fans walk into the Wachovia Center, those making a donation will be directed to a nearby location to drop off their turkey, where they will be stored in a cold truck. Turkeys will be collected through halftime. All turkeys received will be donated to Philabundance and must be accompanied by a receipt showing the date of purchase.

The Turkey Drive doesn’t stop there, as the Philabundance Turkey Round-up will be held on Saturday, November 17 at the ACME in Bala Cynwyd (25 East City Line Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004). At approximately 2:00 p.m., Sixers guard Willie Green will announce the number of turkeys donated the previous evening and make a contribution on behalf of the Sixers.

Sixers Assistant Coach Aaron McKie will also be on hand at Saturday's Turkey Round-up to make a donation to Philabundance through his non-profit agency, the AM8 Foundation. The AM8 contribution will be divided in an effort to assist families in need throughout Philadelphia, including his childhood neighborhood in North Philadelphia.
