Delaware 87ers Name Larry Meli Chief Operating Officer
NEWARK, DEL. - DECEMBER 10, 2013 - The Delaware 87ers today officially announced that Larry Meli has been named Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. In his current role, Meli will oversee the 87ers business operations and serve as a liaison between the Sevens and Philadelphia 76ers.
"Having been part of the 76ers for over 15 years, Larry Meli understands the culture, strategy and core values we are looking to implement within the Delaware 87ers," said Sixers Senior Vice President, Business Operations Lara Price. "In his new role, Larry will lead the business operations of Sevens and work with Sevens President Aaron Moszer to make the Sevens a prominent fixture throughout the state and region."
Prior to this promotion, Meli was most recently the Sixers President of Ticket Operations and Fan Experience. He was named Director of Ticket Operations for the Sixers in 1998 and Senior Director of Ticket Operations in 2003. From 2004-2011, Meli served as Vice President of Customer Service and Ticket Operations, where he developed and implemented numerous customer service policies as well as renewal programs for all 76ers season ticket holders.
In addition to his role as Sevens COO, Meli will continue to oversee all facets of the Sixers Ticket Office, including supervision of the Sixers full-time ticket office staff.
Meli is a 1992 graduate of the University of Richmond with a bachelor of science in business administration and is a 1994 graduate of Temple University with a master’s degree in sports management.
