Samuel Dalembert talking after the New Jersey game about the possibility of surgery on his left knee:
On why he played versus New Jersey:
"I was feeling really great this morning after practice. I was going after everything, playing hard, pushing myself. I was feeling really good (but I was) feeling a little tight. So, I told the doctor I wanted him to take a look in there to see what the problem is, more for the future. I don’t want to start the season knowing I had a problem, and then in the middle of the season not be able to help my teammates. That would be a terrible thing. "
On the surgery being his decision:
"It was my decision. Because I have some question, if I play on it, will it get worse or be the same. (The doctor) could not tell me, only God knows. So, he has to go in a see what the problem is. And when he told me that, I realized why not, I needed to do it sooner and get it over with…I can go. I definitely can go. That is not a problem for me. I can go right now. I am feeling great and things are going great for me. It’s just a matter of being curious to know what the problem is. And I don’t want to take a risk. "
On playing in front of his grandmother, who was visiting from Haiti, for the first time:
"That was fun tonight, really enjoyable. We came out and all contributed tonight. We all had fun. So, that was great. I think she was really happy. I’m anxious to see the happiness in her face right now. "
