TIGER TO BE DONATED TO PHILLY’S TANNER DUCKREY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - WINNERS OF CIRCUS ESSAY CONTEST

DATE: Tuesday, April 15 at 11:45 a.m. (following Sixers practice).

PLACE: Philadelphia 76ers Practice Facility, PCOM, 4190 City Ave, Philadelphia, PA

As The Greatest Show on Earth® starts at the Wachovia Spectrum on Wednesday (April 16), former Memphis Tiger and current 76er Rodney Carney becomes an honorary circus performer for a day and joins a World Famous Ringling Bros. clown to paint a life-size circus tiger statue following Sixers practice. Students at the Tanner Duckrey Elementary School will finish painting the statue next week and keep it as a reward for winning the Circus Works Essay contest.

In preparation for the show’s arrival to Philadelphia, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®, along with Comcast-Spectacor, will donated tigers to four other local organizations: St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, The Ronald McDonald House, West Philadelphia Boys and Girls Club, and the Police Athletic League.

Carney and the 76ers finish the regular season on the road against the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. before starting the NBA Playoffs. Tickets for Sixers home playoff games are now on sale via ComcastTIX at www.Sixers.com or calling 1-800-298-4200.

Tickets to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® presents Over the Top at $15, $23, and $27 are on sale now exclusively through ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200, and at the Wachovia Complex Box Office. A select number of VIP & Circus Celebrity seats are also available for each performance.
