76ers Greg Buckner Sidelined Four-to-Six Weeks with Right MCL Sprain

    PHILADELPHIA, PA - Friday, Oct. 5, 2002 - 76ers guard Greg Buckner will be out four-to-six weeks with sprains of the right medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligaments, suffered in the Sixers’ practice session on Friday, Oct. 4, at the Bryce Jordan Center on the campus of Penn State University.

    Buckner was signed as a free agent by the 76ers on July 25, 2002. He averaged 5.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game in 44 contests for Dallas last season. Drafted in the second round (53rd pick overall) in the 1998 NBA Draft by Dallas, he played the last three seasons there.

    The 76ers will close camp on Monday, Oct. 7 and play San Antonio at the Bryce Jordan Center on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. before returning to Philadelphia.
