    Derrick Coleman

“I’m very happy for him. I sat back this summer and watched the games. I just think everybody was selfish, no one was playing the game of basketball. There was no team unity as far as getting everybody involved in what’s going on. I think that’s what Coach Brown is going to bring. He’s going to make sure that you play unselfish basketball.”

    Allen Iverson

“I don’t think they could have chosen a better person for the coaching position. When you look at what he’s done in his career, he deserved it, he earned it. I’m just happy to see that they gave him the chance, and I just wish him well. I hope he does great!”

    Todd MacCulloch

“I’ve seen him in action coaching for the U.S. team before, and those teams that he has coached play hard. The fact is that he is a great coach at whichever level he has competed at. The international level is no different. He has had experience at prior Olympics, he has won a gold medal as a player, he won one as an assistant coach, so now he’ll have the chance to win one as a head coach. I think it’s a great decision. I think the guys will play hard for him, I think they will play defense, and I think that U.S. Basketball is in good hands with him coaching.”

    Aaron McKie

“It’s good for basketball to have a passionate coach like Larry Brown coaching the U.S. team. He’s going to give his heart and soul, everything he’s got to the team. Hopefully he gets the same from the players. I think he’s a great ambassador for the game, and just getting the opportunity to play for him is truly a blessing. He’s just not a coach to me, he’s someone that really cares.”

    Eric Snow

“I think it’s a tribute to how well Coach has done at all levels, and how good a person he is. He loves the game, he’s a teacher, he is probably the best coach I’ve had. It shows by everywhere he’s been, he continually wins. He makes guys better players, that includes myself. This is the icing on the cake for him, to now be the Olympic coach. He’s definitely deserving, he works hard, he has his guys work hard, and he continually gets the job done every year.”
