76ers waive Bowman and Christmas

Philadelphia, Pa. – October 21, 2009 – Philadelphia 76ers President and General Manager Ed Stefanski announced today that the team has waived forward Brandon Bowman and guard Dionte Christmas. The Sixers roster now stands at 13.

Bowman (6-9, 225) has played both overseas and in the NBA Developmental League since going undrafted out of Georgetown University in 2006. He appeared in four preseason games for the Sixers, averaging 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in 8.5 minutes per game.

Christmas (6-5, 205) was not selected in this past June’s draft following a four-year career at Temple University. In four games played for the Sixers this preseason, he averaged 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per game. Christmas also played for the Sixers/Nets entry in the Orlando Summer League back in July.
