76ers Double Down in Vegas with Mini-Camp and Summer League Games

Philadelphia, Pa. – July 2, 2008– On Sunday, July 6, the Philadelphia 76ers will depart for Las Vegas where the team will hold a five-day mini-camp for rookies and free agents (July 6-10) in preparation for a five-game schedule at the 2008 NBA Summer League Presented by EA SPORTS held in Las Vegas (July 11-17).

During the Sixers mini-camp, the final 15 minutes of each morning session will be open to the media, with availability following. Among the players expected to participate in this year’s summer league will be Marreese Speights, who the Sixers selected with the 16th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, and last year’s rookies, Jason Smith and Thaddeus Young.

The Sixers tip-off their five-game schedule in Las Vegas on Friday, July 11, at 10 a.m. (EDT) against the Golden State Warriors. All of the Sixers games will be played at the Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
