Beach Bash 2014 An Overwhelming Success

by Max Rappaport Writer

For Philadelphians, visiting the Jersey Shore is a summertime tradition. On one weekend every year, the 76ers join in the fun, spending a day down the shore in Avalon, NJ and connecting with fans while raising money for charity – this year for their community outreach program, SIXERS STRONG.

Saturday marked the 15th straight year of Sixers Beach Bash at Jack's Place in Avalon, and fans came out in droves to enjoy the ocean breeze, play carnival games, and meet current Sixers Nerlens Noel, Tony Wroten, and Brandon Davies, as well as legend Darryl Dawkins.

The new members of the Sixers Dream Team were there, performing their first routine of the 2014-15 season, and the Flight Squad was there signing autographs and mingling with fans. The team’s South Jersey radio affiliate, 97.3 ESPN, broadcasted live from Beach Bash, interviewing Sixers CEO Scott O’Neil and radio voice Tom McGinnis, as well as Noel, Wroten, and Davies.

The support from fans was overwhelming, and this year’s Beach Bash rose almost double what was raised last year! Take a look at our recap of the day, the top photos from Beach Bash, and the event through the lens of social media:
