LAS VEGAS –– With K.J. McDaniels (left ankle sprain), Jordan McRae (left ankle sprain), and Nerlens Noel (rest) unavailable for Wednesday’s game against the Lakers, the Sixers needed some extra juice from their reserves.

That’s exactly what they got.

Guards Sean Kilpatrick and Elijah Millsap each scored 19 points off the bench, doing so on a combined 13-of-24 (54.2%) from the floor. On the other end of the floor, Millsap led a scrappy Sixers defensive effort, forcing seven of the Lakers’ 24 turnovers.

Starting in place of Noel, Drew Gordon notched eight points and 10 rebounds, doing so despite receiving three stitches over his left eye after an elbow from Lakers rookie Julius Randle. Gordon was a +31 in 20 minutes of action.

The win moves Philadelphia into the second round of the tournament portion of the Samsung NBA Summer League. They’ll face the top-seeded Chicago Bulls Thursday night at 10pm (EST) on NBA TV. The game will also be streamed live on via Summer League Live.
