6 SIXERS PLAYERS TO HELP PECO WITH RENOVATION PROJECT AT SHEPARD RECREATION CENTER IN PHILADELPHIA
PHILADELPHIA, PA. – MARCH 29, 2013 – The Philadelphia 76ers and PECO will jumpstart Sixers Green Week with an energy efficiency renovation project at Shepard Recreation Center (5700 Haverford Ave., Philadelphia, PA) on Monday, April 1 starting at 3:00 p.m.
The team and PECO will tip off the event with a press conference announcing the full details of the renovation project at Shepard Recreation Center, emceed by Sixers Radio Announcer Tom McGinnis. The Sixers players helping with the project that day – guards Evan Turner, Nick Young, Damien Wilkins, Royal Ivey and Jeremy Pargo, and forward Lavoy Allen – will also be introduced.
Following the press conference, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the players and PECO representatives will begin project renovations, including installing smart power strips, CFL light bulbs and other tasks.
Sixers Green Week begins Thursday, April 4 and runs through Tuesday, April 12, and will include Go Green Night on April 10when Sixers host the Atlanta Hawks at the Wells Fargo Center at 7:00 p.m., both presented by PECO. The first 5,000 fans in attendance on Go Green Night will receive an eco-friendly hat featuring the Sixers logo, courtesy of PECO. Full details about Sixers Green Week and Go Green Night will be released at a later date.
The Sixers next host the Charlotte Bobcats at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, March 30 at 8:00 p.m. All fans in attendance will receive an Allen Iverson bobblehead, courtesy of Reebok.
