NBA Finals - Game 6 vs Los Angeles
"Magic" overcomes Sixers

Zoo recalls the game:

The Sixers and their fans had high hopes of winning this Spectrum game and taking it back to LA for Game seven after an injury to Laker center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. But a rookie by the name of Earvin “Magic” Johnson jumped center, delivering 42 points and 15 rebounds, leaving Sixers fans with a combination of deep disappointment and begrudging admiration for the fledging, charismatic first year player. Those who did not attend this game viewed it on CBS via delayed tape.
