On tonight’s game being so pivotal
We all understand that (this game is so pivotal). It’s a best-of-three series now. We still have to find a way to win one game up here (in Detroit).

On how difficult it has been to win on the road in this series
We had a chance to win both games up here.

This is a great building. The fans are great. They’ve got a lot of energy. The biggest thing is that you’re playing against a good team that’s well coached. But, we knew that going in when we didn’t have homecourt, that we’re going to have to win a game up here. Our team has been a pretty good road team for a long time, and hopefully, we can find a way to give ourselves a chance.

On what worked in Games 3 and 4
A lot of it was the crowd and the energy they gave us. Your bench usually plays better at home than on the road. I don’t know why, but ever since I’ve been coaching, the substitutes play much better at home than they do on the road. We did a lot of good things defensively on the board, and I think our energy was way up.

On Brian Skinner’s role in tonight’s game
In Games 1 and 2, our big people got in foul trouble and that really hurt us. We can’t afford that to happen. But if it does, Brian has got to step up and play. They fact that he has played before hopefully will help him. But it’s not going to be only him. We might have to use Monty Williams. Monty is a quality player, and he’s been hurt all year. The biggest thing for us is that we have to stay out of foul trouble, rebound the ball effectively and take care of the ball.

On Brian Skinner’s role
I think Brian’s going to come in and make a big difference as far as helping us on the boards. He just has to come in and step up now. It’s unfortunate that Tyrone got hurt, and he’s out for a couple of weeks. But hopefully we can get this done (win the series), and when he comes back in a couple of weeks, he’ll be able to play against New Jersey.

On what worked well in Games 3 and 4 versus Games 1 and 2
Rebounding. I think we outrebounded them. In Game 2, we outrebounded them here too. But everybody can blame Allen for those free throws, but there were other points in that game that didn’t go our way, and we didn’t do what we were supposed to do, and that’s why we lost.

It’s 2-2 now, and we still have the opportunity to come up here and get a win.

On Ben Wallace
Ben’s going to be Ben. He’s going to rebound the ball. Hopefully, we can just keep him off the offensive boards, and I think we’ll be all right.

On playing tonight
I’m going to play my role. Rebound, play defense and score if given an opportunity. That’s the bottom line.

On playing against Corliss Williamson
He’s a good offensive player. I’m just going to play solid defense. It’s going to come down to which team executes the most defensively as well as offensively to win this game.

On playing tonight
I’ve been given an opportunity to play right now, and I’m going to make the most of it.

On having the opportunity to play since Tyrone Hill’s injury occurred
It’s a game of opportunity. You have to be opportunistic. If you have an opportunity to do it, then it doesn’t matter in terms of what happened. You just have to go out and produce.

On playing in the playoffs
One game can change the whole series. You have to play a best of seven right now. You win you go on, you lose, you go home.
