Sixers Team Physician Dr. Jack McPhilemy on Greg Buckner and Allen Iverson
On Allen Iverson:
"Allen Iverson has a fracture of the middle phalanx of the long finger of his right hand. In addition, he has a volar plate injury, which is a cartilage body that connects to the area where the fracture is. He has got some swelling in the area, some pain and we anticipate that he will be out two-to-four weeks. He’ll start hand therapy, probably within two days, once the swelling and the pain improves. "
On Greg Buckner:
"Greg Buckner has a first-degree sprain of his anterior cruciate ligament and first-degree sprain of his medial collateral ligament. He injured them on Friday, October 4. We anticipate that he’ll miss four-to-six weeks. For the next three-to-four days, he will be doing very little except ice, passive modalities and some aquatic therapy. He won’t start doing more active stuff until Wednesday, once we get back to Philadelphia. We anticipate that he will be doing physical therapy for three weeks or so. We’ll start him doing light basketball work around week number four, and then just progress him from that point on."
