How do you think the workouts went today?
For the first day, I thought it went excellent. You have young guys that are showing what they can do. There is some little nervousness on their part in terms of shooting a basketball, that’s where it usually shows up. For the most part, I think it went well.
What is the coaching staff looking for in these workouts?
Seeing if guys can pick up things quickly. At this level from high school or college the pace is a lot quicker. The guys are moving at a faster pace. They (the prospects) jump just as well as the guys who are here (on the current Sixers roster). There is a lot to pick up, so you have to be able to grasp all that we are trying to teach. That’s one of the main things that we definitely look at because (Sixers Head Coach) Larry (Brown) in his teaching philosophy throws a lot of things at guys, so you have to be able to pick up things as well.
How did today’s prospects perform?
Randy Holcumb stood out the most in terms of a defensive standpoint and just having a nice little feel for the game. I thought Bill shot the ball extremely well. He is just a 15-18 jump shooter basically. The high school kid, he just has a lot to learn. It would be nice if he would have stayed in and went to college, but he has elected to take this route. It is not going to be an easy task for him. He is going to have to pick up a lot of things a lot faster than what he is normally used to. He has a great body on him, I think.
