Sixers Trade Jiri Welsch to Golden State For A Future First Round Selection

Philadelphia, PA- June 26, 2002- Philadelphia 76ers General Manager Billy King announced that the Sixers have traded the rights to Jiri Welsch, chosen with the No. 16 pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, to the Golden State Warriors. In the deal, the Sixers acquire a future protected first round selection and regain their 2005 first round pick, traded to Golden State last October.

Golden State obtained the 2005 selection from the 76ers on October 25, 2001, as a part of the three-team deal that sent Derrick Coleman, Vonteego Cummings and Corie Blount to Philadelphia, George Lynch, Jerome Moiso, Chris Porter and Robert Traylor to Charlotte and Cedric Henderson to Golden State.
