Looking for their second straight win, the Sixers led Atlanta early, but a late surge by the Hawks thwarted their efforts.

Philadelphia took a 6-5 lead two minutes into the game and didn’t relinquish it until the 1:34 mark in the third. From that point on, the two teams went back and forth, but a stretch of eight unanswered points by Sixer-turned-Hawk Lou Williams led Atlanta to a 103-95 victory.

Thaddeus Young led the Sixers with 23 points, four assists, three rebounds, and four steals. Michael Carter-Williams finished with 16 points, nine assists, nine rebounds, and three steals, James Anderson contributed 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting, and Jarvis Varnado had five points, nine rebounds, and three blocks in 20 minutes off the bench.

The Sixers return to action Wednesday night at 7pm against the Bobcats in Philadelphia.
