After a relaxing weekend, the Sixers Dancers met on Monday, November 16 for rehearsal to prepare for upcoming games. We also learned choreography to a special routine that would incorporate the Sixers Dancers, Hip-Hop and the Hare Raisers in a high-energy performance including dancing, flipping, stunting and tossing. It was fun to work with one another to put together a performance that would combine our individual talents.

On Wednesday we met again back in the Wachovia Center as the Philadelphia 76ers took on the Charlotte Bobcats. After an intense game, the 76ers came away with an 86-84 win!

This week, the Sixers Dancers had some free time on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. I spent those nights attending parent-teacher conferences at the school where I teach. It was great to meet my students’ parents and to share the experiences and progress that we are making in our classroom.

The team will meet again tonight when Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Memphis Grizzlies! As a dance team, we are excited to introduce two new routines this evening: Sweet Dreams and The Percolator. We are eager to perform these particular routines because both were brought to us by former Sixers Dancers. Sweet Dreams is a thrashy jazz routine that was choreographed by Krystal Tini and The Percolator is a throwback routine that is a Sixers Dancer tradition. The hip-hop choreography was revamped and taught to us by former dancers Chikita and Renee. We are excited to unveil both to you on the court tonight! See you at the game! Let’s go Sixers!
