Not Too Scary Tales From Halloween

Trick-or-treating is one of those individual things - kids stop doing it at varying ages, depending on how they feel about it. Andre Iguodala was one who liked to stick with his traditions.
“I think the year I got to college was the first time I didn’t go,” said the rookie out of Arizona. "We’d ride our bikes to the good neighborhoods and hit every candy house.”
Considering that Iguodala just started college two years ago, you might not be too surprised if you saw him show up at your house this year. And at this point, his costume probably wouldn’t be too much of a stretch.
“We just wore whatever,” he said.
It seems that was a common theme among the players as they got older. Many guys would just go out in whatever they had, and as athletes, their normal dress often made a good costume.
“I always played football,” said Sixers guard Aaron McKie. “So we’d just go while we were walking home in our football stuff.”
Generally, the players went trick-or-treating - doing so with their parents when they were younger, and eventually moving on to going around with their friends. Some would dress up, and some would just go with the flow.
“I just wore whatever was popular,” said guard John Salmons. “I don’t remember anything in particular.”
But like Iguodala, many players could remember the last costume they wore. Batman was a favorite of guard Kevin Ollie, and the last costume Iguodala remembered wearing was a karate character.
Others had a thought on what they’d wear if they had to dress up today.
“I’d probably go as Dracula,” McKie said. “My daughter wants Spiderman.”
And as for Allen Iverson, his pick was pretty appropriate - “Superman.”
