The Games Before the Game
For NBA players, every bit of work helps. Whether it's on the practice floor, in the weight room, during shootaround, or in film sessions, every advantage helps. And even when time is limited on gamedays, several 76ers players and assistant coaches have found that an old-fashioned game of three-on-three goes a long way.
Approximately two to three hours before every Sixers game, home or away assistant coaches Aaron McKie and Bernard Smith join several players for a spirited series of three-on-three games that are extremely competitive, yet light-hearted.
"When you're on the move and in game situations, it's only going to help," said Kareem Rush, who's in his sixth NBA season and his first with the Sixers. "It's just a good way to stay in shape."
