When we last checked in, the Sixers faced the NJ Nets. It was a very close game but we pulled away with a win. The dancers and players had Saturday off, but the guys were back at it on Sunday in Detroit. Andre Iguodala led the Sixers with 24 points. Andre has started this season out strong with three 20+ point games so far.

Monday night we were back in our house with Phoenix hungry for a victory. I arrived at the arena around 4:30, did my hair and make-up and attended a game day meeting at 5:30. The dancers were excited to perform two new routines: Rock & Roll and a Michael Jackson medley. The Rock & Roll routine was choreographed by the “mother” of our team, Debbie Apalucci. Since Debbie was the Director of the Sixers Dancers for many years, she knows exactly what to put out on the court. She attended the game that evening to support us and was very pleased with our performances. The MJ routine was also a lot of fun to perform. We felt like Michael’s back-up dancers as we danced and imitated his original choreography in leather jackets and gloves!

While the team was on the road this week, I spent my nights off preparing choreography to teach to our Junior Dancers. I will be attending their practice this Sunday to teach them a crowd-friendly and funky routine to “Get Loose”! These juniors are incredibly talented so I wanted to make sure I gave myself plenty of time to prepare.

I can’t wait to see you all again tonight as we host the Utah Jazz! Oh and don’t forget to cast your All-Star vote for Elton Brand, Andre Iguodala, and Sammy Dalambert! Let’s Go Sixers!
