Throughout the 2005-06 season, the Sixers will join NBA.com and Reebok in paying tribute to “the toughest little man the league has ever seen.” At the conclusion of every month, Sixers.com will post a comparison of all 10 of those months that Iverson has played throughout his career. After taking a look at Iverson’s performance in each month, you, the fan, will get to vote and decide in which year Iverson performed best in the month of November, December, January, etc. Then, at the conclusion of the season, as well as the conclusion of one decade of A.I., you will be able to vote which overall season was Iverson’s most successful.
As Iverson has now concluded his 10th February in the NBA, you can get started and begin the voting. Take a look at Iverson's stats, accomplishments, awards, and the Sixers team performance for each February over the past 10 years, and then vote as to which February you feel was A.I.'s best.

The Sixers began to play better ball as a team during February of Iverson's rookie year and went 5-7. Iverson got his first taste of the NBA All-Star Weekend as he was named the MVP of the first ever rookie game. He totaled 19 points and 9 assists in the game. He matched a career-high with seven defensive rebounds against Miami on Feb. 18, and he completed his second complete game without a turnover on Feb. 11 against Cleveland.

February 1998 |

Iverson scored in double figures for every game during February of 1998 while shooting a blistering 50.4 percent from the field. He also connected on a game-winning three pointer to beat Dallas on Feb. 11. For the month, the Sixers went 5-8.

February 1999 |

Because of a lockout, February was the first month of the NBA season in 1999, and Iverson got the Sixers off to a fast start. He scored 46 points against San Antonio on Feb. 12, had 32 points and six steals against Atlanta on Feb. 14, and had 36 points and 10 assists against Sacramento on Feb. 24. Iverson led the Sixers to a 8-5 month and was named the NBA player of the month for the first time in his career.

February 2000 |

Iverson had a busy month during Febuary of 2000. He scored 40 points on Feb. 3 against Houston, 41 points on Feb. 9 against New Jersey, and racked up 50 points against Sacramento on Feb. 6. Iverson was voted in as a starter for his first All-Star game appearance of his career. He also participated in the AT&T Long Distance Shootout. For the month the Sixers went 7-5.

February 2001 |

After being selected for his second straight All-Star game, Iverson did not disappoint the fans who voted for him by putting on a show and taking home the MVP award for the game. He played pretty well in the regular games as well, scoring 40 or more points six times, including three straight between Feb. 13 and Feb. 16. In the Sixers game on the 16th, Iverson scored 20 points in the first quarter and finished with 42 against the Clippers. He was named player of the week on Feb. 20. The Sixers went 9-5 for the month.

The Sixers struggled a bit during February of 2002, and went 5-6 for the month. Yet, Iverson still put up amazing numbers and was voted in to his third straight All-Star game. Iverson completed 16 free throws on Feb. 20 against Golden State and snatched six steals against Orlando on Feb. 23. Iverson averaged an amazing 4.1 steals per game for the month.

February 2003 |

Iverson was selected to his fourth straight All-Star game and led all Eastern Conference players with 35 points. He also scored over 40 points in a game once and made a game winning free-throw against Orlando on Feb. 14. The Sixers played well and went 8-2 for the month.

In February of 2004 Iverson became first Sixer since Julius Erving to start five consecutive All-Star games. On Feb. 17 Iverson came off the Sixers bench to total 27 points and a season-high 14 assists, and then on Feb. 19 in Seattle Iverson scored 40 points, dished out 11 assists, and collected five steals. Iverson missed four games in the month and the Sixers went 4-9.

February 2005 |

Iverson had a terrific individual month in February of 2005. He had two games in which he scored 38 points and passed out 10 assists. He had 14 assists against Sacramento on Feb. 26. He was in his sixth straight All-Star game and brought home the MVP for the second time in his career. To top it all off, Iverson scored the second most points in Sixers history in a game when he totaled an amazing 60 points against the Magic on Feb. 12. In that game he tied a franchise record with 24 free-throws. With Iverson missing one game because of injury, the Sixers went 5-6 for the month.

After missing the first game of the month with a sprained ankle, Iverson returned to lead the Sixers in scoring in nine of the next 10 games of the season. He scored 42 points, had nine assists, and eight rebounds in a win over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs. Iverson was also selected to his seventh straight All-Star game. The Sixers went 5-6 during February of 2006.
