2007 Pre-Draft Camp Day 2

Today will mark the second full day of games and drills at the NBA Pre-Draft Camp in Orlando featuring the college and international prospects, which means more valuable time for the Sixers basketball operations department to evaluate the players.
And they welcome every chance to see these players in Orlando.
"Our scouts have already seen a good number of these players throughout the year - both in person and on video - but here we can see them in a different environment and we can evaluate their performance in an NBA system," President Billy King told Sixers.com this morning. “It is important for us to see if their play over these next few days is consistent with our ratings. We'll take what we've seen in Orlando and discuss over the next few weeks."
With a full contingent of Sixers scouts, front office personnel and coaches in Orlando, it allows many sets of eyes to examine and evaluate every aspect of a player’s performance during this pre-draft camp.
While it's one thing to focus on the stat sheet at the end of games, there is much more on the radar for the Sixers than meets the eye.
“We're here looking at everything,” King said. “Not only their play during the games and their grasp of the fundamentals, but also their demeanor, off-court personality and how quickly they adjust to what the coaches are teaching them."
An added benefit for the Sixers is that Assistant Coach John Loyer is the head coach of the teams here in Orlando, which gives the organization potentially even more insight into some of the characteristics of these prospects.
For King and the Sixers, each chance that presents itself to get insight on prospects prior to the NBA Draft on June 28 is a welcome one.
"With the number of picks we have this year, we're going to take every opportunity to see as many players as we possibly can, and that will continue with our workouts leading up to the draft," King said.
The Sixers will begin their individual workouts at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) beginning on June 5, the first day allowed per NBA regulations.
