More Than 760,000 Votes Create The 2007 Las Vegas NBA All-Star Dance Team
Viva Las Vegas! Sixers Dancers team member Kimmie, a native of Clemonton, N.J., has been selected to represent the Philadelphia 76ers at NBA All-Star Weekend as a member of the first-ever NBA All-Star Dance Team. More than 6.5 million page views and over 760,000 votes were registered by fans on NBA.com for the selection of the All-Star Dance Team, comprised of one dancer from each of the NBA's 30 teams.
A 22-year-old Clementon, N.J. resident, Kimmie is currently in her second season as a member of the Sixers Dancers. A graduate of Plainfield High School, Gipson teaches at Dance and Fitness in Northfield, N.J., and performs at Mur.Mur. at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, N.J.
“I’m so excited,” Gipson said after learning of her selection. “Everyone has been so supportive and the team is awesome. I’m just very glad I can represent Philadelphia and our team.”
“I am very excited that Kimmie is being given the opportunity to represent the Sixers Dancers and the Philadelphia 76ers organization at the upcoming All Star Festivities in Las Vegas,” says Sixers Dancers Director Debbie Apalucci. “I'm so glad that the whole country will get the chance to see a small sample of the talent, energy, beauty and excellence that is the essence of the Sixers Dancers.”
This elite cast of America’s top NBA dance professionals will perform as the 2007 Las Vegas NBA All-Star Dance Team during fan events in Las Vegas, the official host city of NBA All-Star 2007, including NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by adidas, McDonald’s NBA All-Star Celebrity Game presented by 2K Sports, NBA All-Star Saturday Night, and the NBA All-Star Game, airing live on Sunday, Feb. 18, on TNT, ESPN Radio and in 215 countries and territories.
While in Las Vegas, the dancers will sport exclusive adidas gear, including specially designed Eastern and Western Conference All-Star jerseys. The 2007 Las Vegas NBA All-Star Dance Team’s airfare will be provided by Southwest Airlines, the official airline of NBA All-Star 2007.
