Read to Achieve November 2002 Appearances
AS Jenks School November 27 Members of the Sixers Dance Team Kelly, Krystal, Michelle and La-Tisha accompanied Hip-Hop to the AS Jenks School in South Philadelphia to read to Ms. Leslie's class as a part of their Book Day event. The girls read Bunny Noisy's Book while Hip-Hop got the students involved by acting out the story. All of the students received Read to Achieve bookmarks and recited the pledge.
Stanton Elementary November 26 Monty Williams and Hip-Hop visited the students at M. Hall Stanton Elementary School. Monty read Bunny's Noisy Book with Hip-Hop to 60 first and second grade students. Stanton Elementary School is celebrating National Children's Book Month. Each kid received a bookmark, Activity book, and Scholastic magazine. Monty led the kids in the Read to Achieve pledge and donated Scholastic books to the school's library.
Nativity BVM November 21 As part of the 76ers Read to Achieve program, PA Announcer Matt Cord and mascot Hip-Hop were at Nativity BVM school in Media, PA. Matt read Hip-Hop's favorite book, Bunny's Noisy Book, to 125 excited students. Each child received a Hip-Hop Acitvity Book, sticker, and Hip-Hop trading card. Matt also promised a special "shout out" to the students at Nativity on Y100. School principal, Sister Mary Daniels was happy to receive a donation of Scholastic books to the school's library. She loved the program, stating she had not laughed that hard in a YEAR!
