ShareRead to Achieve June 2002 Appearances
On June 19th, 76ers Executive Vice President Dave Coskey served as the Guest Speaker for Stone Harbor Elementary School's 8th grade Graduation ceremony. As part of the Sixers and NBA's Read to Achieve initiatives, Dave also donated a collection of Scholastic Books reference and resource materials on behalf of the graduating class.
On June 17th, 76ers General Manager Billy King surprised students at Ferguson Elementary School in North Philadelphia with pizza, soda, and a story. Billy delivered pizza, read Curious George, and led the students in the Read to Achieve pledge. On behalf of the 76ers, Billy donated Scholastic Books and a brand new set of World Book Encyclopedias to the school.
