Tickets: Buy them here! Auction: Autographed Kyle Korver Bobblehead It has hair! A Kyle Korver bobblehead, complete with a head of hair, will be given to the first 5,000 kids ages 12 and younger at the Sixers-Nets game on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the Wachovia Center at 7pm. In addition, Korver will host a postgame autograph session for any Sixers fan who donates a new children’s winter coat to Kyle’s Coats for Kids Drive, a part of the 76ers Drive for Kids community outreach initiative. Plus, a host of Korver-related activities will take place throughout the arena during the game. The bobblehead, courtesy of Chevrolet, features Korver sporting a white, home Sixers uniform with hair representing Korver’s latest style. The item was produced by Alexander Global Promotions. Kyle’s Coats for Kids Drive, spearheaded by Korver and Comcast SportsNet’s Phil Andrews, marks the third phase of the 2005-06 Sixers Drive for Kids campaign. All coats collected on Jan. 18 will be donated to Operation Warm, a non-profit organization that works to enhance the self-esteem of disadvantaged children by providing new winter coats; thereby, promoting a positive self-image and fostering the conviction that says, “I am of value.” Last season, 1,446 coats were donated. This season marks the third-consecutive season that the Philadelphia 76ers and Comcast SportsNet have teamed up for “Drive for Kids,” a season long initiative that includes a food drive, toy drive, coat drive, book drive and hat drive to benefit children in Philadelphia. The night will tip-off at 5 p.m. at the Cingular Pavilion with a lineup featuring trivia questions about Korver’s playing career with special prizes for the winners. Starting at 6 p.m., four hairstylists, courtesy of Supercuts, will be in the Hall of Fame room to give free haircuts to Sixers fans. Sixers fans will also be able to pick up a copy of the latest edition of DRIVE, The Official Magazine of the Philadelphia 76ers, that features Korver on the cover. Keeping with the theme of the evening, the Sixers will honor Casey Krause of Center Valley, Pa., as a “76ers Hometown Hero.” A nine-year-old aspiring basketball player, Krause coordinated a coat-drive at Hopewell Elementary School. After attending a Sixers game last season during Kyle’s Coat Drive, Krause was inspired by Korver to create the coat drive at his school resulting in the donation of nearly 150 coats. |
