Educational Programs
Age Group: ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
As a part of the Sixers Read To Achieve program, students will be challenged to take a break from the television to pick up a book and read. Students accepting the challenge must read at least 760 pages of their favorite books during the designated two-month time period. The goal of the program is to encourage students to develop a joy for reading in their spare time.
How This Works
All interested schools will complete a registration form to enroll their school into the program. Upon registration schools will receive their Book Break packets complete with a welcome letter to schools, parents, and the Book Break Tally cards for students to track his/her reading.
Rewards
Each student reaching the goal of 760 pages will receive:
- FREE 76ers ticket and a special ticket offer for any additional tickets the family may desire to purchase (Select games to be determined by the Sixers)
- Book Break Certificate of Achievement
- Read to Achieve Bookmark
Age Group: MIDDLE SCHOOL
With an emphasis on academic excellence the 76ers, through the Shoot For Success program, will reward students obtaining a 3.0 GPA or better on his/her report card.
How This Works
Once your school is officially registered, using the tracking form, you will report the number of 3.0 and above students for that grading period.
Rewards
All students making at least a 3.0 or better for that grading period will receive the following:
- FREE 76ers ticket and a special ticket offer for any additional tickets the family may desire to purchase (Select games to be determined by the Sixers)
- Certificate of Achievement
Age Group: HIGH SCHOOL
The 76ers Sports Career Seminar is designed to give students an inside look at the professional world of sports. The program will assist students in determining what professions within the sports and entertainment industry best match their interests.
The following are direct points of the program:
- Gain insight on what occurs in a sports-related work environment
- Discover the various tasks that are performed during a 76ers game
- Learn the skills and educational requirements needed in each field
- Get a chance to see what you learned by attending a 76ers game
How This Works
The program is open to students in grades 9–12 and will require a $25.50 registration fee plus $5.00 handling fee and will include:
- Breakout Session with a representative from various departments within the organization
- Food Voucher (Hot Dog, Popcorn, & Soda to be used for lunch or at the game)
- One (1) Game Ticket to be used later that same night
Students are able to purchase additional food items on their own and will also have an opportunity to purchase additional 76ers game tickets at a discounted price of only $20.00 for friends and family.
