First 5,000 children 12 years old and younger will receive a Samuel Dalembert jersey as the night is devoted to the Sixers center

The Philadelphia 76ers have lined up a host of activities at the Sixers-Minnesota game on Monday, Dec. 12, highlighted by Samuel’s Toy Drive. The 76ers and Comcast SportsNet’s “Drive for Kids” campaign is encouraging fans to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Wachovia Center. Additionally, the first 5,000 children 12 years old and younger will receive a Samuel Dalembert jersey, courtesy of Subaru, and in-arena activities will be geared towards Dalembert.

Dalembert and Comcast SportsNet’s Michael Barkann are spearheading Samuel’s Toy Drive in which all collected items will be donated to the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program for children in the Delaware Valley. Any fan who donates one of the following acceptable toys - Barbies, LEGOS, Bratz, Electronic hand held games, Fisher-Price brand, sports equipment (footballs, baseball sets, etc), Leap Frog brand items, remote control cars, Disney brand items, arts & craft sets, and Tonka toys - will be able to attend a post-game autograph session with Dalembert, following the game.

The night will tip-off at 5pm at the Cingular Pavilion with a “Salute to Big Men” featuring trivia questions about the players in franchise history that measured 6-foot-11 or taller. Special prizes will be in store for some of the tallest people to come through the Pavilion doors. Additionally, the first 5,000 children will receive a white, replica Dalembert mesh nylon jersey upon entrance to the arena.

Throughout the game, the Sixers “Mezz Madness” fans will have the opportunity to visit a photo station where they can get a picture with a cut-out of the Sixers 6-foot-11 center and visit the Create-a-Sign station to make signs supporting the Sixers and Dalembert. The in-arena entertainment will include a Dalembert highlight film and special greetings to those in attendance.
