![]() ![]() The 76ers Basketball 101 program is tipping off its tenth-consecutive season in 2007-08. Led by 76ers Director of Player Development World B. Free. The Basketball 101 program is a fast-paced clinic designed to teach the fundamentals of basketball. This season, the 76ers aim to bring their basketball clinics to 30 local sites including elementary schools, after-school programs and various recreational leagues. World B. Free will lead Delaware Valley area youngsters between the ages of 6 and 14 through 45 or 60 minute sessions complete with stretching, drills and games, followed by a positive message. The games will focus on practicing basic basketball skills, and upon completion of the program, “graduates” are awarded diplomas and 76ers giveaways. The Ambassador of 76ers Basketball, World B. Free continues to score big in the communities of Philadelphia and the surrounding Delaware Valley. Entering his sixth season with Sixers, Free travels to schools, recreation centers and playgrounds in the tri-state area teaching the fundamentals of basketball and life. Through his constant effort to enlighten and enrich the minds of the youth in the community, World B. Free has become a household name yet again as the ambassador of 76ers basketball. This comes from his work not on the court but his work off the court. In particular Free uses the Philadelphia 76ers Summer Hoops Tour to get his message across. Thousands of children each summer gather to be in the presence of Free as he challenges these young people to not only further their basketball skills but their life skills.
