What was your favorite children's book growing up and why?
I have to say my favorite children’s book growing up was “A Pocket for Corduroy.” I love the relationship Lisa had for her bear and how only the two of them could communicate with each other. It’s just like the relationship I had with my toys growing up.What is your favorite book now and why?
I would have to say my favorite book is the “Bible.” It’s the only book I read close to everyday and can give me encouragement when I’m down and strength when I’m weak.What book has had a major impact on your life and why?
It would have to be the biography of Oprah Winfrey. I wanted to be Oprah Winfrey as a child. When I was young, I read the book about her life and said, “I want to be just like her.” She’s one of the reason’s I entered the communications field.Who got you interested in reading?
My parents and teachers got me interested in reading at a young age. My parents stressed the importance of even reading the newspaper daily. While going to school, I had teachers throughout the years, who stressed the importance of reading books and their influence along with my parents has stuck with me ever since.p>Is reading an important part of your profession?
Yes, reading is an important part of my life. I need to know how to read to do my daily job as a producer. I need to know how to read to carry on the very basic skills in life.Why is reading important?
Reading is important because you need to know how to read to accomplish tasks in life.Why do you love to read?
I love to read because it gives me an opportunity to escape from the everyday happenings in the world. It’s a chance for me to expand my vocabulary. Reading is a conversation piece when you’re out with a group of people. You can talk about the latest books you’ve read.Recommended Books:
For adults, some of my favorites are “Catcher in the Rye,” “Something’s Wrong With Your Scale.” For children some recommendations include, the little Bill series, by Bill Cosby, “Shanna’s Doctor Show,” and books on the Berenstain Bears.If you could be any character from a book, who would it be and why?
I would want to be the Fairy Godmother in “Cinderella.” It would give me the chance to take someone out of a bad predicament and place them in a better situation.
