SIXERS STRONG: Cradles To Crayons
With the 2014 NBA Draft just over one week away, the Sixers' basketball operations staff is hard at work preparing to make the most of their league-high seven picks. Tuesday, members of the business side of the organization were able to assist with a different type of prep work.
Over 100 full-time staff members traveled to the Conshohocken headquarters of Cradles To Crayons, an organization that collects and distributes essential items to low-income and homeless children around Greater Philadelphia, helping to organize clothing, books, toys, and everything in between.
As a team, they sorted 90 bags of clothing, prepared 243 outfit packs, cleaned and labeled 260 pairs of shoes, fixed and packed 72 bags of toys, processed and bundled 600 books, and put together more than 600 school essential packs.

The day of service coincides with a pledge made by each Sixers employee to dedicate at least 76 hours a year to community service. The team has already logged thousands of collective hours and still has thousands left to give.
