As the 2003 76ers Summer Hoops Tour rolled into Paulsboro, N.J. on Monday, July 14, city representatives, Mayor John J. Burzichelli and Councilman John Giovannitti, greeted the organization with open arms.

On behalf of the Philadelphia 76ers, Ambassador of 76ers Basketball World B. Free accepted a "Key To the City" presented by Burzichelli, as the Summer Hoops Tour stopped at Paulsboro High School. This gift was given with gratitude from the Mayor and the people of Paulsboro, who honored the 76ers for their dedication to the community.

In recognition of the 76ers appreciation of this honor, Free presented Burzichelli with a personalized Sixers jersey.

The city representatives also welcomed the Sixers at Nino Gervasi's Restaurant for a complimentary lunch prior to the presentation and clinic.

The clinic marked the third year that the Summer Hoops Tour visited the city to teach Paulsboro youngsters basketball fundamentals, including shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, rebounding and the importance of teamwork.

Free, along with members of the Sixers front office staff, led the children in a series of drills and games, while TV play-by-play man Marc Zumoff controlled the microphone to emcee the event.

The Paulsboro stop, one of 42 throughout the summer, lasted approximately 90 minutes. All participants received promotional items, and 12 lucky individuals were awarded additional prizes with two lucky participants winning 76ers backboard and rim set.
