Felton, Paul Named T-Mobile Rookies of the Month

NEW YORK, April 3 -- Raymond Felton of the Charlotte Bobcats and Chris Paul of the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets today were named the Eastern and Western Conference T-Mobile Rookies of the Month, respectively, for games played in March.

Felton led all rookies in scoring with 17.0 points per game, while recording 3.8 rebounds, 6.6 assists, shooting .457 from the field and a rookie-high .474 from three-point range. In the last five games of the month, Felton averaged 22.4 points on .460 shooting, 5.2 rebounds and 9.2 assists, and recorded double-doubles (points-assists) in four out of five contests.

Paul wins Western Conference Rookie of the Month for the fifth consecutive month, joining Cleveland’s LeBron James, Denver’s Carmelo Anthony, San Antonio's Tim Duncan and David Robinson, and Houston's Ralph Sampson as the only players to be named Rookie of the Month five times. Paul led all rookies in assists (7.8 apg), steals (2.21 spg) and minutes (37.6 mpg), while ranking second in scoring with 15.0 per game.

March 21 vs. Orlando: Recorded 16 points, seven rebounds and a career-high 13 assists in a 108-102 win over the visiting Magic.
March 22 at Cleveland: Had 30 points on 12-of-21 shooting, seven rebounds, 10 assists and a career-high five steals in a 120-118 overtime loss to the Cavaliers.

March 28 vs. Atlanta: Scored 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting, while adding 10 assists and five rebounds in a 125-117 victory over the Hawks.

March 8 vs. L.A. Lakers: Tallied 22 points, 10 assists, four rebounds and three steals in a 113-107 road loss to the Lakers.
March 21 vs. L.A. Clippers: Had 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting, three rebounds and nine assists in a 120-108 win over the Clippers.
March 29 at Golden State: Posted 18 points, six rebounds and seven assists as the Hornets defeated the Warriors 86-85.

Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference T-Mobile Rookies of the Month were Boston’s Ryan Gomes, Houston’s Luther Head, Toronto’s Charlie Villanueva and Utah’s Deron Williams.
