Felton, Paul Named T-Mobile Rookies of the Month

NEW YORK, March 1, 2006 Raymond Felton of the Charlotte Bobcats and Chris Paulof the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets today were named the Eastern and Western Conference T-Mobile Rookies of the Month, respectively, for games played in February.

Felton, the fifth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, ranks third in scoring (15.6 ppg), second in assists (6.5 apg), and second in steals (1.45 spg) among rookies. His 31 points at Phoenix on Feb. 25 was a single-game rookie scoring high this season. Felton also reached double-figure scoring in nine of the 11 games.

Paul, the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, wins for the fourth consecutive month. He leads all rookies in scoring, assists, and steals, and averaged 17.2 points, 9.5 assists, and 2.2 steals during February. Paul ranks second overall in the NBA in steals, seventh in assists and ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio. He also recorded three double-doubles, four 20 plus-point games and four 10 plus-assist games.

Feb. 1 vs. Atlanta: Scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and had seven assists and two steals in a 102-92 loss to the Hawks.
Feb. 6 vs. Seattle: Tallied 24 points, five rebounds and nine assists in a 119-106 victory over the Sonics.
Feb. 21 at Denver: Recorded a double-double of 14 points, 11 assists and had four rebounds, four steals and a blocked shot in a 100-84 loss to the Nuggets.
Feb. 25 at Phoenix: Posted a single-game rookie scoring high of 31 points and added three rebounds and three assists in a 136-121 loss to the Suns.

Feb. 1 at Chicago: Recorded a double-double with 25 points and 13 assists and added four rebounds and three steals in a 100-95 win over the Bulls.
Feb. 22 vs. Utah: Recorded 18 points, and matched his career high with seven steals in a 82-76 loss to the Jazz.
Feb. 25 at Utah: Tallied 23 points, and had 8 assists in a 100-95 win over the Jazz.
Feb. 28 at Seattle: Posted a double-double of 25 points and 14 assists and added seven rebounds and three steals in a 114-104 loss to the Sonics.

Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference T-Mobile Rookies of the Month were Indiana's Danny Granger, Toronto's Charlie Villanueva and Utah's Deron Williams.
