We've been getting a ton of mail over the last couple of weeks. A lot of it comes from one particular city (you know who you are) and a lot of that is addressed to some guy named Stephen, but we appreciate it just the same. Do you have a question or a comment about your favorite (or least favorite) rookie? E-mail us.
Let's get to the mail...

Michael - Toronto, Ont.
T-Mobile Rookie Report: Thanks for the love, Michael. Don't worry, they're not pushing us around at all. In fact, they're starting to get a little desperate...
I respect what Chris Paul has done for his team, but I really want CV to win ROY just so he can get back at ESPN for saying what they did. If Chris Paul got injured for the rest of the season, would it be possible for CV to win the ROY?
Mike - Toronto, Ont.
This year they should have an award for second best rookie of the year award. Not that the NBA would ever do that, but is it safe to say the Charlie V would win it?
Max - Toronto, Ont.
RR: See what we mean? You're either hoping the other guy gets hurt, or you're trying to create a new award. Come on Toronto! You can do better than that!
Are you joking? Putting Paul second to Villanueva in the weekly rankings is absolutely ridiculous. Look at the statistical breakdown you gave, Paul came close to averaging the same number of boards as Villanueva, Paul killed him in assists, his steals beat Charlie's blocks, and their points were almost identical. Really? I know you get a lot of angry emails from Raptors fans that Charlie's not getting enough love, but quite simply Paul's on a level by himself in comparison with the rest of the rookies.
Micah - New York, N.Y.
RR: For the season, yes. Paul is pretty much by himself. For the week, he only played two games (winning zero), while Villanueva played four (winning two). Paul had one incredible game and one solid game. Villanueva had three double-doubles. The number of games a guy plays that week is a factor in our weekly rankings.
What will it take for Nate Robinson and David Lee to get in the Rookie Rankings?
Ben - Springfield, N.J.
RR: We were over at the Meadowlands for Nets-Knicks right before the All-Star break. David Lee was shooting around before the game and when he made a shot, a fan yelled from the stands, "Hey Lee, why don't you do that in the game?". Lee's response ... "I need to get in the game first!" There's your answer, Ben.

James - New Haven, Conn.
RR: Hey, we're not crazy about the rotations in New York, but whatever the reason is, Frye hasn't been as productive of late. Trying to compensate in our rankings for the whims of a coach won't work. How would we evaluate Arvydas Macijauskas?
No Ryan Gomes in the Top 10? The dude is a double-double machine and they have a much better record with him in the starting line up. So, not only is he getting numbers, but he's getting wins on a struggling team, unlike the Hawks, or the Knicks. There is no reason why he does not deserve to be on the top ten.
Alex - Boston, Mass.
RR: Gomes has been terrific Alex, but here are three reasons he hasn't cracked the Top 10 yet: November, December and January. The back-to-back career nights just might get him there though. Check back on Monday.
What I see only affirms to me that if drafted in place of these young boys and given the same opportunity, players like Warrick, Gomes and Simeon would give those teams much more. I know the "potential" theory and all but, by the time it becomes "kinetic" the kids will be free agents so you don't get nearly the value for the pick. What's your take?
Dwiddy - Dededo, Guam
RR: That's always the debate. A lot of our mail is of the "So-and-so would be putting up those same numbers if he got the same playing time" variety. Our response: "Maybe. Maybe not." Hypotheticals don't really go far with us. Rookie contracts are four years long (the last two being team options) though, and then the players become restricted free agents, so there should be plenty of opportunities to show some value. It all depends on the team though.

Jesse - Potsdam, N.Y.
RR: Sanchez is playing with the Idaho Stampede of the CBA.
I think that too much is made of this Chris Paul/Deron Williams deal. No one can honestly say that if Chris Paul had come to Utah and played in the system under Jerry Sloan that he would be having as good a year. He wouldn't, period. I think its incredible that Williams has done as well as he has and gotten starts as much as he has. Both Stockton and Malone came of the bench for years. I believe it was Sloan that said he would have rather had Stockton not start as quickly as he did. That to me tells me that Williams is a heck of a player and if he would have gotten the same opportunities as Paul, he would have just as many outstanding numbers.
King Ben - Ogden, Utah
RR: That is a valid point Ben, and we do think it's too early to say that the Jazz made a mistake, but don't take anything away from Paul. He has earned his minutes in a big way and we don't think Byron Scott would hesitate to bench him if he wasn't performing.
So Frye scores more points and gets more rebounds than Villanueva in less minutes, while shooting over 15% better from the line, but is ranked lower. Good call.
Corey - Stony Brook, N.Y.
RR: Thanks Corey! Glad to see there are others out there that can see beyond the stats.

Kevin - Detroit, Mich.
RR: Rasheed and McDyess are under contract for a couple of more years and we can't imagine Ben signing anywhere else this summer, so it will be tough for Maxiell to make much of an impact in the foreseeable future. He can certainly learn a lot from those guys, but it's just not a good situation for a young big man looking to develop his skills on the floor.
Hey, I was just wondering about Sean May. I'm a huge North Carolina fan and I'm happy to see Raymond Felton and Marvin Williams start to succeed. Rashad McCants is doing pretty well too. That leaves out May. I was wondering when he will be back and if he has any shot at a power rankings top 10. Maybe a mention? Thanks.
Atif - Buffalo, N.Y.
RR: There's some good news for May fans this week, as he has been cleared to run non-contact drills. We still don't know if he can make it back before the end of the season, and returning to the Top 10 is a real long shot, but we'll do our best to keep you up-to-date on his progress.
So who's going to with the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for March? So far it's been Frye, Villanueva, Bogut, and now Felton. Who's next? Deron Williams?
Kevin - Metairie, Lou.
RR: It would have been funnier if you went with Fran Vazquez instead of Williams, Kevin. Nice try though.
