HOUSTON, June 2 -- The Houston Rockets have traded the 22nd pick in the 2001 NBA Draft to the Orlando Magic in exchange for the 23rd pick in this year's draft, Rockets General Manager Carroll Dawson announced Saturday. In accordance with the guidelines in the trade agreement, the Magic will accept the 18th pick in the draft from the Phoenix Suns and convey it to Houston. Orlando owed the Rockets a first-round draft pick as part of the three-team, 11-player deal between Houston, Vancouver and Orlando that brought Steve Francis to the Rockets on Aug. 27, 1999. The Magic will accept the 18th selection from the Suns who were conveyed the pick initially by the New York Knicks. The Rockets now have the 13th, 18th and 23rd selections in the 2001 NBA Draft, which will be held on June 27 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Houston does not have a second-round selection in this year's draft.
