One of the biggest feet in the NBA is healing.
Rockets center Yao Ming informed a room full of reporters in Beijing that his size-18, left foot is improving and that he expects to play for China in the upcoming World Championships.
According to a Reuters report, Yao wasn't walking with a noticeable limp.
"As to my injury, I don't have any major concerns," Yao told Reuters. "Everything's going really smoothly. Do I look like a guy with a foot injury?"
Yao broke his left foot on April 11 and underwent surgery to repair it. He missed the final four games of the season.
The 7-foot-5 center made his comments following a press conference in Beijing to promote the Special Olympics being held in his hometown of Shanghai in 2007.
Yao, who was named to the All-NBA third team last season, averaged a career-high 22.3 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
