Rockets offering variety of multimedia tools to fans

HOUSTON -- The Rockets are counting down to the start of a new season with a variety of multimedia tools that fans can add to their computers.

With the Rockets' home opener less than two months away, the team has developed a stack of new wallpaper, an exclusive countdown widget, a toolbar filled with Rockets.com updates and a downloadable schedule for Outlook.

Each of the new tools can be found under the multimedia section of Rockets.com and are easy to install. Or, better yet, fans can learn how to transform their desktop into a red and white haven by reading what is available below and clicking the links for instructions.

Here's what can be added to make any computer exude with Rockets pride:

Countdown Widget

Want to coundown to the Rockets' home opener with Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming and Shane Battier?

Get the Rockets' countdown widget.

With the Rockets' countdown widget, fans can stay up to the minute on how far away the team is from tipping off its home opener against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, Oct. 30. Follow the simple instructions here to add the countdown widget to any desktop.

Wallpaper

The Rockets have four brand-new wallpapers available, featuring the team's new slogan, "It's Time." The wallpaper options include designs with Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, the star trio of Shane Battier, McGrady and Yao as well as the team's logo.

With sizes available for virtually any computer screen, one of the four flashy designs can be set as wallpaper by simply right clicking on the image and choosing the "set as background" option.

Toolbar

Want to stay up to date on the latest Rockets news and get even easier access to Rockets.com? The Rockets' toolbar accomplishes that. Associated with Yahoo's search engine, the toolbar can be added to any web browser to keep fans one click away from breaking news or accessing tickets. Downloadable Schedule

Not sure when the Rockets are playing their next game? The Rockets' downloadable schedule for Microsoft Outlook solves that problem. Fans can simply add the team's entire schedule to their Microsoft Outlook calendar to be alerted when the Rockets are playing their next game. Follow the easy instructions to add the schedule to your computer.
