Rockets Trade for Spanoulis in 2004 NBA Draft

June 24, 2004 - The Houston Rockets traded the draft rights to Luis Flores, the 55th selection in the 2004 NBA Draft, to Dallas in exchange for the rights to the Mavericks’ 50th pick, guard Vasilis Spanoulis. The 6-3, 200-pound point guard plays for Maroussi in Greece and averaged 11.1 points and 3.4 assists per game this season. Spanoulis, considered one of the best young point guards in Europe, is currently vying for a spot on the Greek National team.

In the 2003 FIBA Europe League, Spanoulis averaged 10.8 points (on .442 shooting), and 6.4 assists for Maroussi Athens. He also connected on 42.9 percent of his three-point shots and 72.4 percent of his free throws.
