Rockets Agree to Long-Term Radio Broadcast
Partnership with SportsRadio 610

SportsRadio 610 to Serve as Rockets’ Radio Home Through 2009-10 Season

HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets announced today a new, long-term radio broadcast partnership that ensures all the team’s games and related programming will remain on SportsRadio 610 for the next four years. The agreement, which also includes a five-year commitment to broadcast Houston Comets games, provides for the creation of two additional Rockets-specific shows and additional cross-promotional opportunities.

“We have had a great relationship with SportsRadio 610 the past four years,” said Rockets Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Broadcasting Tad Brown. “SportsRadio 610 is the primary information source for Houston sports fans, and this partnership allows us the opportunity to offer our fans more creative team-specific programming and access to our players and basketball personnel.”

“SportsRadio 610 is very proud of its association with the Houston Rockets and Comets,” added SportsRadio 610 Program Director Bill Van Rysdam. “We look forward to continuing this great relationship we have established.”

SportsRadio 610 has served as the flagship radio station for the Rockets and Comets since 2002. The Rockets’ veteran broadcast team of Gene Peterson and Jim Foley will be joined again by studio host Craig Ackerman to call all games during the team’s upcoming 2006-07 campaign. Ackerman will also serve as the play-by-play announcer for all Comets games beginning with this season’s preseason home opener against the Charlotte Sting on Wednesday, May 3. Rockets Spanish Announcer Adrian Chavarria will also be joining the Comets radio broadcasts as the studio host for SportsRadio 610 pre-game, halftime and post-game shows.
