Day Two: October 2

I'm not nervous at all coming in here. I made a few shots today and I know they're going to come. It's just the second day and I know I'm not in the best shape right now. Right now, I'm not really looking to drive or anything like that. I'm working hard. I could probably sit out some, but I want to get myself ready. It'll take some time. I think everyday, so far, I'm getting better.

I'm not 100-percent recovered from the groin injury. I just need to take it day-by-day. From yesterday to today was a big jump for me in how I felt. My legs are sore and I can't get down into a real offensive or defensive position. It's hard to say when exactly I'll be completely healthy. It could be a week from now or 10 days or three days.

The injury has actually been bothering me for a while. I injured my groin at the end of last season in Italy. After that, I came to the NBA workouts and had a doctor look at it before I really began to work out in Washington and he said I didn't have a hernia. Three days after that, I had to work out in Indiana and had a really hard workout with sprints and stuff like that. That's when I started to feel it much more than before. So, they looked at me again and said I had a sports hernia. I think it had to have happened when I was in Indiana. But my groin had been bothering me a little bit before, so I guess that just put it over the top.

Besides getting healthy, I just want to learn. Offense, defense, transition game. Everything is just learning. I think I have a lot of learning to do. I know my body will get in shape, that's nothing to worry about. You don't have to be smart to do that. I'm trying to find out everything there is to know about the game now. That's going to take some time, I don't expect to play excellent from the first game. But, I'm patient and hopefully everyone else will be patient with me. Eventually the right results will come.

Now, at the end of the season, I want to be a guy that at the end of the game they will say "this guy helped us win." That's how I see myself and that's how I want to be. I want to be a guy that helps the team make one extra step.

Talk to you tomorrow.
