Q: Which Rocket has the record for the most three-pointers in a game at Compaq Center and on the road?

A: Former Rockets forward Robert Horry holds the distinction for nailing the most three-pointers in a single game for Houston. Horry torched the Cleveland Cavaliers by nailing an astonishing nine 3-pointers at Gund Arena on February 22, 1996. Rick Barry holds the individual record for most three-pointers in a game at Compaq Center. Barry connected on eight 3's against Utah on February 9, 1980.






Q: Did current Dallas assistant Del Harris ever coach the Rockets?
A.C. Harris - Dallas

A: Yes. Del Harris had a 141-187 record in four seasons as Rockets head man from 1979-1983.


Did any Rockets player average a double-double during Houston’s first championship season?
Ben Singleton - Houston

A: The Rockets actually had two players average a double-double during their 1993-94 championship season. Hakeem Olajuwon proved to be the Rockets main man with season averages of 27.3 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. During the playoffs “The Dream” was even better, averaging 28.9 ppg and 11.0 rpg. Forward Otis Thorpe also did his part in that title season with averages of 14.0 ppg and 10.6 rpg.


Q: Who has worn the No. 34 jersey for Houston besides Hakeem Olajuwon?

A: Now that Olajuwon’s jersey is retired, no Rockets player will ever wear No. 34 again. However, there were several players who donned that jersey before Olajuwon. They are:

  • John Block (1967-71)
  • Dick Cunningham (1971-72)
  • Robin Jones (1977-78)
  • Ron Behagen (1977-78)
  • John Shumate (1979-80)
