2008 Devon Energy Teacher of the Game
The Houston Rockets and Devon Energy acknowledge that America’s future depends on teachers educating our children, and applaud the exceptional teachers in the Houston area. These teachers are at the foundation of educational excellence. The Devon Energy Teacher of the Game will recognize exemplary PreK-12th grade teachers who go above and beyond the call of duty, as well as inspire their students to succeed in life and in school.

Direct Energy and AIG Retirement team up with the Rockets
This season, Direct Energy and AIG Retirement have partnered with the Houston Rockets to award deserving students in the Houston area the opportunity to attend a Rockets basketball game. This opportunity is awarded based on a student’s performance, as related to school activities or other criteria such as attendance, academic achievement, athletic achievement, improved behavior, or other school activities. These accomplished students will receive two (2) complimentary tickets to a Rockets basketball game for their noted success.

Tux and Tennies

The Houston Rockets are proud to announce that for the 13th consecutive year, the Clutch City Foundation
will host its annual Tux & Tennies Charity Gala on March 27, 2008 at Toyota Center. The annual team
fund-rais er is hosted by Rockets owner Leslie Alexander. Proceeds will benefit the Dikembe Mutombo
Foundation to help build Phase II of the Biamba Maria Mutombo Hospital, located in the Democratic
Republic of the Congo. Mr. Alexander recently announced that Paul and Penny Loyd, and Dikembe and
Rose Mutombo will serve as our honorary chairs, and they will be joined on the host committee by Stephen
and Leticia Trauber.
