ROCKETS: Community Home

Grassroots Basketball

The Rockets are committed to providing resources and opportunities
for Houston’s youth to play basketball. From clinics-to-leagues-to supporting high school athletic programs,
the grassroots basketball initiatives keep youth in the game.

The Academy Road Jams
The Academy Road Jams bring the excitement of a Rockets game to local parks, communities and Academy stores throughout Houston. Hundreds of families and teens participate in these Rocketized community festivals where they enjoy shooting contests, clinics, interactive and video games, performances from Rockets mascots, dancers and entertainers, and great food.

In its 13th year, Best Shot provides students with academic tutoring, cultural awareness workshops and drug prevention education. Using basketball as an incentive, participants must take part in weekly educational activities and tutorial sessions before taking part in league games.
