USO-Houston lifts the spirits of America's troops and their families in Greater Houston through USO Travel Centers at Bush Intercontinental and Hobby Airports that serve nearly 35,000 troops and their families annually, as well as through morale-boosting and family-strengthening programs targeting the 8,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen and their families stationed in Greater Houston.
As the Rockets Run tips off the season, we want fans to stay active and in shape while experiencing the thrill of crossing the finish line on the Rockets center-court at Toyota Center. Each 5K runner will receive their official timing with the Disposable Tag System (D-Tag).
ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED You can register in person either Friday at Toyota Center from 7am-2pm at the Jackson Street entrance OR on the day of the race starting at 6am at the La Branch Street entrance. |
The Rockets will host the fifth Kids' 1K which will also finish on the Rockets center-court! Children 12 and under can participate in the abbreviated run course around Toyota Center. Kids can enjoy participating in the Rockets Run with Houston's own, Clutch, the Rockets Bear.
Participants in the Rockets Run can choose to compete in the 5K run, the 2 Mile walk, or Kids 1K. All courses take runners through several blocks of midtown Houston, then turn back toward Toyota Center. The final legs of all the races will go underneath the Tundra Garage and the arena, before emerging on the Rockets home court—32 feet below street level.
After crossing the finish line, participants are invited to head to the Post Race Party presented by UnitedHealthcare. The celebration includes trophy presentations for the top 10 finishers, along with free food, drinks, and entertainment for all participants.
The fun does not end after the post-race party, every participant receives one ticket voucher to select Rockets home games. Registration fee includes admission to the race, a race packet complete with T-shirt and other sponsor items, plus the post-race party and a Rockets game ticket.
Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 finishers in 13 different age groups. The top overall male and female runners will receive trophies!
