  1. Why should I register?
    It's FREE and you get cool stuff! It's the only way to get access to exclusive Member benefits on the NBA.com Network of sites as such as special promotions, insider discounts and other online features on NBA.com and WNBA.com including games, wallpaper designs and select video highlights. So sign up now to get your FREE Member Name and Password.

  2. What is the Fan Center?
    The Fan Center is the area on NBA.com and WNBA.com where you can update your profile, manage your e-mail subscriptions or find out the latest benefits and exclusive offers for Fan Center Members. You can access the Fan Center directly at NBA.com/FanCenter or WNBA.com/FanCenter.

  3. How do I take advantage of Fan Center Member Benefits?
    If you are using the same computer from which you previously signed in, have not cleared your "cookies" from your browser and have not logged out, you will not have to sign in again to take advantage of most Member Benefits. For your security, we will prompt you for your password when accessing sensitive personal information, like your profile.

    If you do not yet have a Member Name or have previously signed out, you will be asked to sign in to take advantage of Member Benefits. Simply click on the designated link, sign in using your Member Name (or e-mail address) and password, then click on the "sign in" or "log in" button to play the multimedia file or complete the contest entry or subscription form. You can also sign in by visiting the Fan Center directly at NBA.com/FanCenter or WNBA.com/FanCenter.

    New Member Benefits are being added all the time so check back often to get the most out of your membership.

  4. What is my Member Name used for?
    Your Member Name is your online identity in the Fan Center. If you play fantasy games, write in to one of our editorial features or appear on a game leaderboard, we will list you by your Member Name so we can personalize your experience. Your Member Name is unique. If you try to register with a Member Name already being used in the Fan Center, you will be requested to choose a different one.

  5. Why am I being told to choose another e-mail address or Member Name?
    If you previously signed up or entered a NBA or WNBA promotion offline or through a partner's website, a special Member Name and password was assigned to you at the e-mail address you provided. You can request that your Member Name and password be e-mailed to you then sign in to the Fan Center to update your information however you want.

  6. How do I recover my Member Name or Password?
    On the sign-in page for the Fan Center, you will have the opportunity to recover your Member Name or click here. Click on the link indicated if you have "Forgotten your Member Name" then enter your e-mail address and your Member Name will be e-mailed to you.

    To request a password hint to be sent to your e-mail address, go to the sign-in page for the Fan Center and click on the link indicated if you have "Forgotten your Password" or click here. Or, if you never designated a password hint or would like your password reset, you may have a new password e-mailed to you from the same page.

  7. How do I change my e-mail address?
    Sign in to the Fan Center and click on the "Edit" button to update your e-mail address. Simply enter your new information then click the "Update" button to save your changes. A confirmation will be sent to your new e-mail address.

  8. How do I update my profile information?
    To get the most out of your Fan Center registration, be sure to keep your profile and preferences updated. Otherwise you may miss out on special event invitations in your town or information about your favorite team. Simply sign in to the Fan Center and you will see your current profile information. Click the corresponding "Edit" button to modify your profile, including your Member Name or password, and other preferences. Simply enter your new information then click the "Update" button to save your changes.

  9. How do I unsubscribe to e-mail alerts?
    Sign in to the Fan Center and you will see your current e-mail subscriptions. Click "Edit" and modify the checkboxes next to each selection as desired then click the "Update" button to save your changes. Every e-mail you receive will also have a link at the bottom to click if you would like to stop receiving such e-mails in the future.

  10. How do I sign up to receive free e-mail alerts?
    Sign in to the Fan Center and you will see your current e-mail subscriptions. Click "Edit" and modify the checkboxes next to each selection as desired then click the "Update" button to save your changes. You'll be able to view a sample version of most e-mail selections to help you decide what information you'd prefer to receive.

  11. How often will I receive e-mail alerts?
    You control which e-mail alerts you wish to receive and how often.

    1. NBA Starting 5 Newsletter: E-mailed once a week, the NBA Starting 5 Newsletter includes the top five NBA stories and specials for the week. We also have occasional special e-mailings when we have really big news personalized for you;
    2. NBA Daily Newsletter: E-mailed every Monday through Friday, the NBA Daily provides you with the latest NBA headlines, scores, nightly broadcast information and the daily NBA TV schedule;
    3. NBA.com Fantasy Basketball Weekly: A weekly roundup of the latest fantasy basketball news and tips sent every Friday;
    4. NBA Offers Alerts: Sent periodically as needed, includes ticket offers, new NBA product announcements and discount offers, promotions and local event invitations;
    5. NBA Partner Offers Alerts: Sent periodically as needed, includes Special offers and exclusive promotions from select NBA partners.

  13. What's the difference between the HTML and text versions of e-mail alerts?
    Both versions generally contain the same amount of information. The HTML version supports images which allows for a more visual presentation to make it easy for you to visit links in the newsletter. Most webmail programs: Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, Hotmail, Gmail and most newer e-mail clients like Outlook, Outlook Express and Lotus Notes can view HTML e-mail. If you'd like to change your preferences to either text or HTML e-mail format, simply sign in to the Fan Center and update your profile.
