![]() Ultimate journeyman Drew Gooden could help at PF. Scorer Corey Maggette can get to the foul line, a Bucks need. Best news here, though, has been center Andrew Bogut's progress re: wrist injury.

![]() The Bucks hope John Salmons backs up a good half season with a good full season (he didn't in Chicago). Brandon Jennings is vowing playoffs, but likely without Michael Redd (yet another major knee surgery).

![]() Draft pick Larry Sanders was all-Vegas at Summer League and, despite raw offensive moves, could help at both big spots. Jennings needs to get serious at this end.

![]() Keyon Dooling, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Earl Boykins bring depth to backcourt with Ridnour gone. Maggette's greatest value might come as the Bucks' instant offense off the bench.

![]() Lot of parts here for Scott Skiles to assemble. But few coaches in the league get more out of their talent, and few work better across 48 minutes on game night.

Summary
Milwaukee's surprising success last spring and taste of the playoffs -- even with Bogut out -- seems to have fast-tracked the organization's master plan. The Bucks once looked like they would be major offseason players in 2011, but they got busy adding Gooden and Maggette and re-signing Salmons this year. Some have compared it to Detroit grabbing Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva in 2009, signings that were out of sync with the team's life cycle.
But when you have a dynamic, if precocious, point guard like Jennings and an elite and improving center like Bogut, you almost can't dream too big. The Bucks want to crack the upper seeds in the East. If Maggette, Salmons and Gooden play up to their paychecks, that's a legit ambition. Sen. Herb Kohl, the team's owner, opens up his wallet every once in a while and, considering the results, this seemed like as good a summer as any.
